By Flight
You can reach Sikkim through two airports:
- Bagdogra Airport (IXB), Siliguri – The most popular and reliable airport for Sikkim. It has regular flights from major Indian cities. From Bagdogra, Gangtok is around 125-130 km and takes 4–5 hours by road.
- Pakyong Airport (PYG) – Located in Sikkim, about 30 km from Gangtok. Flights are limited and may get cancelled due to bad weather, especially during the monsoon.
By Train
The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP). Another nearby option is Siliguri Junction (SGUJ), but most travellers prefer NJP as it's better connected. The drive from NJP to Gangtok is around 120–125 km and usually takes 4–5 hours.
By Road
